The Art of Jskaphobe

To have something different I have decided to mention some of the other artists in the Las Vegas area that I admire. Though I have seen her work online quite a few times, mainly through her Myspace profile, Jskaphobe's work has always struck me for the most obvious of reasons, that she can honestly paint and not only just paint, but paint very well.

This making her the perfect choice to be the first artist's work posted about on FairyTales besides my own. The the shift to restoring the site back to its original intentions as a storybook of the lives of visual artists told by art and their creators themselves.

I will soon be taking off to the Bunkhouse, a local tavern located at 124 S.11th Street here in Las Vegas, NV. It's a stone throw away from where I grew up just off Fremont street and where I became the artist I am today with my old school just around the corner. They are hosting an art event of live music and where I hope to speak with Jskaphobe about her work after she creates a live painting demonstration that will help me put a human face to the art I have seen around the web and from past First Friday's.

It is also worth mentioning that this time Jskaphobe is throwing a large art sale through E-Bay for the works I have shown here and a few more. In my heart I have always sensed that fall was the time for us visual artists to emerge.

Something I like to nick name the "Push" takes place during the fall season as even myself have been victim to it. A sudden surge to go into over drive with a wide selection of visual artwork even if it just seen online in updates, public live demos, or other activities. The creative arts in visual medias appear to be boosted and amplified even further by the cultural events that take place such as Ren-faire and countless others community activities. And its usually at this time when I myself appear get the most work offers even with non-art related projects.

I am pleased to say Jskaphobe appears to be off to a great start with her own fall "Push" by offering an excellent collection of works up for sale to the public. I encourage you all to check out her site at http://www.jskaphobe.com ,follow her updates at http://jskaphobe.blogspot.com, or just drop her a line at Jska@Jskaphobe.com. I wish her nothing but continued success and fortunes in 2009 and 2010 while I am looking forward to the new works to come.
