The Future Homeless

Been over a decade since I met some kind people known as Laservida. One of the first alternative artist collectives who helped forge the Las Vegas Arts District right at the start of it all. Now so much has changed and I can't help but watch as things continue to fall apart making way for something new. And the world of the artists who help forge something out of nothing that goes without proper credit in which I named this piece in tribute to one of their last Art Shows.

We are all suffering in these economic times and even I sit here among thousands who are broke, taking jobs when ever they come my way and recently just with my cell phone that has been shut off and .84 cents in the bank. But I know that I live the life of the artist, and isn't my pursuit of art that has caused me to fall this low. I was broke long before I even began to work for myself again and it was the honest truth that my mislead trust in a 9-5 day job is what led me back into poverty long before anyone else began to feel the pressure of our current economy problems. The jobs of working for other companies and businesses who never expected to return the loyalty I gave them because it wasn't cost effective for their own personal agendas. It is a system we have all been lead to believe is life and board it as easily as a run away train to no where.

It's such a shame that any local culture we have is getting pushed out of town, taken advantage of, and/or destroyed.

Thank you for your persistence.
