Another Revamp..

A bit back I posted a Youtube video of me working on the concept drawing of the new logo. And tonight I am actually back to say I am pleased at the final result. Even though the older logo is still close to my heart it is actually over 4 years old. The image bellow is fine as obviously most companies, studies, and individuals can keep the same icon for decades. But with the change of style, the quality of work, and the over all direction change I just failed to see how this image did justice to the new stuff coming out.

"The Old gRiMz FairyTales Logo"

So with the new animatic intro to my films being almost completed I am pleased to show version 2 of my logo. Which in reality is one of two variations I intend to use, but will have to wait for the next drawing flick I throw up to see what I mean :).

Tomb Revisited

Managed to steal a few moments to finish a new youtube video. This piece actually came out of no where last week as I was sitting here thinking of returning to my roots in regards to my art. So an old friend came up out of no where, a character I used to draw when I was younger and under the pressures of social ideals. Hell..I even had a different street name back then..

Lisa & Mike

Awhile back I had the privilage of being booked as the photographer for a formal co-worker of mine Lisa at her wedding. Surprisingly enough it was an eventfull week for me as well when one of my previous investors backed out on me.

Fortunately I have the privilage of having great friends who were able to step in with the needed equipment to get the job done. It was a wonderful occasion and I can not express how happy I am to have been granted the chance to capture it.

My congratulations to Mike & Lisa in the hopes that all your FairyTales come true.

Out with the old..

Week isn't quite over yet as I ponder if I will still have time to put a new drawing video up on Youtube. After going over my past video posts I realized that the old FairyTales logo as well as its animated intro is actually damn near 4 years old. So last week's project was to start working on fixing that with a more updated verson to match my current art styles.

With a draft of the new FairyTales logo starting to take shape, the next challenge will be animating it which was to happen next week. But unfortunately my own animation projects have been put on hold due to a recent video commission for the casino industry. The kind of work that has an extreme deadline and will require quite a few hours of work to complete by next Friday.

Other news I am keeping a bit hush about is that we have another pet project that we are laying ground work on. Over the coming weeks as I attempt to narrow down just the amount of work FairyTales does as far as services to others, I hope to resume work on my own intellectural properties and projects geared for the web. I hope I can tell you more as we are still testing the waters on the new project produced by myself among others.

Red Letter Day

This weekend marks the day where the livewire will be no more. I hate to say it but the days of e-mail newsletters has finally come to an end. Fortunately the "FairyTales" Blog can still be subscribed to by using any RSS reader and updates here do appear on my daily news feed on facebook.

Instead of having a newsletter I have found my Twitter feed to be a lot more effective with what the livewire intended to do. I have also decided to get a weekly YouTube video up as well based off what ever I conjure up in my digital sketchbook. I can't go too much into details but starting next week if current commissions permit I have an idea to get into the habit of hitting record while I work.

I want to continue to give everyone a peak at my sketchbook as I draw for better or for worse. But next weeks posts will resume as I go over some previous photography I have done in the last few months and some works in progress once my schedule is a bit less hectic.

New Chapters

Its been a struggle to get recent updates out on "FairyTales" since I have been doing quite a few side projects for clients in recent weeks. So unfortunately there wont be any recent art posts for a spell. But I would like to revisit the past few weeks with some photography posts in the next week or so and maybe some of the client work I have done.

To be quite honest the side work I have done is simply work at best. It's unfortunately not the type of work I considered to fit in with what I have envisioned for this blog much less my portfolios. In point of fact it has actually forced me to re-think the actual sub-contracted work I do take on in the near future once prior commitments have been met.

At the moment I am also considering to either restructure how my mailing list is handled if not to simply eliminate it. I can not help but feel that my twitter account is much more effective these days than my news letter. And even as I make this post now it is set to send to a variety of other news sources and social networks. So the grimlenz e-mail newsletter may very well end up being a thing of the past.

Promise some goodies later..
