Work under the Hood

(Little gag I threw together after tweaking my Twitter profile)

Spend the day working to get the Fairytales blog updated to what can be considered version 2.5. It came after a very long and tiresome ordeal involving social networks. Something I feel as they get older will soon grow to become a contradiction in terms as there are some who have it, and others who don't.

Personally I feel I fall into the later catagory as I have numerous people attached to my network profiles, but it never fails to feel the icy chill of a cold shoulder even though these are people I have known for many years. It is then when lightning struck and I realized that instead of frustrating myself, the tools were right there in front of me to lay the ground work for something a bit more comfortable for my own lifestyle. So I began working under the hood of my site to build up the Google social networking tools.

Version 2.5 of the grimlenz.com site comes out with a lot of clean ups by adding Twitter integration and the ability to "follow" the site for people who can log in Fairytales using existing accounts with Google, AOL, and OpenID to track all of my activites. It basically turns my blog into its own social networking of sorts without the hassels since everyone will be using their existing accounts already be that of e-mail, IM, or even facebook.

Still a bit more to be fleshed out even though 2.5 is now online. Few other cosmetic changes is that there is only one gallery now on the blog instead of two. Rather than separate photos and art I am working on combing the both since my work is pretty much "out" there on various other sites. Figured one gallery was good enough for vistors to flip through to inquire about other work. More clean ups to follow as I get rid of more waste and tighten things up a bit strickly for the visual arts.

Ramping up..

Been slow here at FairyTales since last month's video project for a Vegas client. But to be honest I have been hard at work developing a new project. I have also been slowing down on the level and amount of work I do as a freelancer.

The truth be told I am strongly desiring more creative clients such as other photographers, models and painters. So I am still pushing for some major changes and looking for a new intellectural property to get things back on track. Will be a bit of a shake up but unfortunately there just isn't enough financial incentives to keep things the way they are now with a open door policy.

I am dearly blessed for the businesses and clients I have worked for over the last couple of years, but unfortunately its simply not taking me to where I want to go and why I have studied so hard to get to this point in my life.

By hoping to drum up support for the new project that carries a far better business plan than FairyTales, it is after it is up and running that I hope to be able to revitalize this site by how I originally visioned it. Unfortunately I can not reveal anything new yet on the new project till I have more of a foundation built to stand on. Playing by the numbers on this one.
